Open horizons

Updated: Jan 22

2024 has reminded me that life is in constant change. We make decisions to bring about positive transformation, but we also encounter unexpected situations—those we can neither control nor predict. What I’ve learned is that the key is to continuously work on myself, preparing for change with openness and acceptance, and to help others in any way I am able to.

Last year has been a mix of growing dreams and facing deep challenges that those who come to the women's circles are aware of. Cacao and Reiki have been big allies to balance my emotions, and trusting that life will provide for me and my family. Cacao, especially, has been a medicine for my soul and an activator of my trust in the universe. Holding heart-opening circles and rituals, spaces where each person can share their path honestly and authentically, have been invaluable gifts on my journey, bringing joy, connection, and a profound sense of belonging.

Today, as we observe Martin Luther King Day -a man who gave his life for civil rights and equality- and witness a new president’s inauguration in the US, I reflect on duality and synchronicity. We live in a divided country, yet there’s an urgent need for unity. Having lived in the U.S. for 12 years and become a citizen five years ago, I deeply wish for the best for this nation that is also mine, just as I do for my own home country.

What I’ve learned over the years is that, despite our differences, we share more in common than we often realize, and we have more impact if we work together. When we open ourselves to others, even those with opposing beliefs, we may be surprised by the similarities in our dreams, struggles, and hopes. This doesn’t mean I ignore the reality of inequality, injustice, housing and food insecurity, discrimination, among others. I also see the destruction of nature, the pollution, the senseless wars, and the disconnection from Mother Earth. This happens all over the world and I do my best to support people and nature in vulnerable states.

I am myself a member of a minority who have experienced these challenges, yet I truly believe that people are inherently good, even if we carry burdens that aren't always visible. I choose to work for peace, respect, spiritual growth, and mutual understanding. I stand for environmental and health awareness, and for the humility to recognize that I am always learning and evolving. Whether you’re celebrating or struggling today, I hold space for you. We’re all navigating our own journeys, and I hope yours honors your true self with love, kindness, and a deep sense of purpose.

2024 has been a year of clear signs and answered dreams. Some milestones I want to highlight are: collaborating with the Montegrande Archaeological Center on the design and launch of their new website (which went live just two days ago!) and becoming part of their team; restarting the monthly Nuna Ayllu Women’s Circle in a beautiful new space—Tranquility Den Massage- in Princeton; updating my own website; holding more sacred cacao rituals; offering private Reiki and sound healing sessions; opening an Etsy store; providing group Reiki for both people and dogs with my dear friend Mari; and starting to plan my upcoming trip to Peru (stay tuned for more details!).

As I look ahead to 2025, I wish for a year filled with growth, abundance, courage, open-heartedness, and safety for all. May peace be with you on your journey.
