Circles to create peace

In a world often divided and hurried, coming together in intentional circles offers a profound sense of connection. Through the years, being part of circles, whether facilitating or attending, has given me support and a sense of belonging. In the times that I was not able to gather, my heart was craving for these meaningful spaces. I remember how important was for me to attend a women’s circle when I was pregnant. Being new to the town and the country at the time, I felt so welcome and accepted. I wish this for everyone.

In these circles, we set aside roles, backgrounds, financial status or political preferences. We are open to listen to the other that seems different or even opposite to us. We come together as equals, recognizing each other as fellow travelers on life’s journey. This means that we listen and share without judgement to others or ourselves. This approach fosters peace and respect, breaking down barriers that divide us.
One profound way to deepen the power of a circle is by conciously inviting Mother Cacao into our space. This ancient plant medicine is transformative and gentle, much like a loving mother’s hug. The ritual creates a sacred connection with Cacao, ourselves, Pachamama, and the caretakers of the Cacao trees and their environment.
During a Cacao ritual, each person forms a unique relationship with this sacred plant. As I sip my cup, I feel my senses awaken, my heart open, and my defenses dissolve. I become present, feeling a profound connection to the universe and honoring my ancestors with their wisdom and challenges. I recognize them within me and embrace the lessons they offer, deciding what to carry forward and what to release, always with gratitude.

Cacao has long been a supportive tool in major life events—birth, pregnancy, marriage, illness, and even death. Historical evidence shows that the Maya and Olmec peoples had (still do) deep ritualistic connections with Cacao. Recently, the discovery of 5,300-year-old Cacao remains and ceramics in Northern Peru, south of Ecuador, reveals a rich legacy that predates the Olmec. This discovery resonates deeply with me, as it connects to my father's ancestral roots, and I feel as though my ancestors were guiding me when I began this journey.
I would love for you to join one of our upcoming Cacao Circles or Women’s Circles. Our gatherings center on what truly matters: connection and mutual recognition. By honoring each other’s humanity, we foster empathy and create spaces of understanding, leaving with a renewed sense of community.
My heart feels fullest when we connect deeply, celebrate our shared experiences, and work together to build a more compassionate and just world.
